My excitment is bubbling,
It’s ready to explode!
My feet just wanna dance,
Dance to the rhythm of my heart.
Time is going by so slowly
Minutes feeling like hours
My mind begs the clock hands to move

My heart is aching and screaming,
I hide the pain, save it for later.
Then the tears come,
Racing like river rapids down my face.
Hot pools form in my hands.
Alone I lay in the dark,
Memories of years past come like waves crashing
Breaking the walls around my heart
Where feeling and remembering were stored.
Everyday I miss you more,
Wonder if you would be proud of me?
The woman I have become?
All the milestones I have reached,
The ones yet to come,
To never be shared with you.
Can you see me from where you are?
My heart still aches
Though I have a smile on my face.
Will the pain ever go away?
Will I get to see your face again?
Feel your touch, smell your smell?
I whisper ‘I love you’ in the night,
Sending it with a hug and a kiss
As I fall asleep and dream of yesterdays.

Near the edge of destiny I stand.
The dark vastness of the unknown looms before me like a canyon.
The road breaks to the left and right of me,
The one I chose to take,
When I step out in faith,
Will decide my fate.

Enveloping me in rays of warm sunlight.
